Taiwan-based own-brand POS maker Posiflex Technologies has announced that it will acquire Protocol Solution Pvt, its general sales agent in the India market.
Posiflex said it will then establish a new marketing subsidiary headquartered in Bangalore, leveraging Protocol's original staff and resources to make further inroads into the India market.
The company said it will also seek to capitalize on India's strong software sector to develop POS solutions ranging from entry-level to high-end ones.
With more than five million retail stores as well as thousands of department stores and supermarkets, India has large potential for POS products, Posiflex indicated. Posiflex has tapped the India market for several years and become the second largest vendor with a market share of 17-18% next only to IBM, the company cited IDC as indicating.
